Standards-Based Change

  • Partnership READ is a collaboration between UIC and the Chicago Public Schools to improve student literacy.
  • It originated as a way to support schools in implementing the Chicago Reading Initiative.
  • The Partnership READ approach is adapted from the Standards Network of Hawaii, an educational reform process, directed by Dr. Kathryn Au.
  • The Standards Based Change Process creates a school infrastructure that builds capacity within schools and teachers to create high-quality school environments for teaching and learning.
