| The towns between Forchheim and Bamberg are filled with
small breweries. And in the hillsides and by the rivers are kellers.
Everywhere. Bicycle routes connect the beer gardens and show that
you are never far away from a cold krug or glass of beer.
Kreuzberg Keller can be found on the road leaving south outside of Schnaid or west out of Hallerndorf (northwest of Forchheim). It has three kellers -- Rittmayer, Lieberth and Friedel. Rittmayer and Friedels are both open for lunch. This is not to be confused with the Kreuzberg Kloister which is quite to the North near Fulda. We went there too and it was the most overrated stop on our trip. Many tourists, paid parking, and one average dunkel that was not worth the trip. This is the Kreuzberg we will return to. |
