2) Think of possible keywords.
3) Find a classmate who is also interested in this area.
4) Find a classic article.
5) How to look up what has been done on the topic lately:

type in last name of author and year of publication of classic article:

search or click on article if underlined
find a title that interests you
click on FIND RELATED REFERENCES
6) or Browse through PSYC INFO using keywords
7) when you find an experiment that seems do-able with a group of people/paper
and pencil or
overhead presentation, go and try to find an article that actually
HAS the stimuli in it
Test ONLY ONE manipulation.
OR come up with your own experiment (Even if the idea is new, its still
easier if you base it on
someone else’s experiment, use their stimuli and basic method and only
change ONE THING.
Your constraints are:
find an idea that can be tested using our class (unless you have another
sample)
Paper and pencil or overhead/computer projector presentation.
In less than 10 minutes (preferably closer to 5)
Vary only one thing between conditions.
When you have an idea – cut and paste the following PROJECT OUTLINE QUESTIONS into an email and send your answers to Dr. Wiley (jwiley@uic.edu). She will then arrange a meeting time with you (and your partner)
